Photo Journal

One of my all time favorite photos. And as an added bonus I got to know the amazing person in this photo after I approached her at an event and asked if I could take her photo. Natural light.

Today was beautiful, air was nice! Sun was shining, it wasn’t super-cold! Work was a bit boring but I was in a really good mood going home! Now it’s off into a full night of sleep before heading for work again! Hope all you lovely people are doing great! Much love!

Dream Journal

I started keeping a dream journal! Here’s a dream from last night! February 18, 2013!

I’m at Linerogården fritidsgård back in Lund Sweden, A place where I used to go as a kid after school. Where all young kids used to go to hang out and play and have fun. A safe place. Dragi Maneski and lots of other people that used to work there are there. Random people from my years as a kid are there. Atmosphere is happy and positive. Everyone is doing good. There’s a big event similar to Ozone happening. there are lots of americans and other foreigners around. everyone is wearing beanies to identify the group they are with and where they are from. I

I’m trying to be official or prove that I’m working there or something. I borrow a beanie from a guy, it’s black with a grey stripe around. People treat me like I’m supposed to be there. Everything is good. I’m wearing jeans and gray shirt. And my baseball jacket on top that is black and white.

Suddenly I’m in a small bathroom stall, laughing, making jokes with people. having a fun time. it’s very very tiny and I’m wondering how anyone bigger than me can fit in there, there are four bathrooms like it and they are all next to each other, 2x2 in a square.

I stand up and I can see above all bathroom walls.and everyone else is standing there having fun looking at each other. No one is doing anything special.

Lejla shows up with a brown haired guy, looks a bit like Dan, a guy from I used to know as a teenager. I don’t like him for some reason.

Lejla is in the one next to me with the guy that looks like Dan and I don’t like it, I treat her like I used to have feelings for her by dissing the guy, blame it on trying to be funny. Everyone laughs.

I say, I’m glad I’m the prettiest guy here anyway, Hongki and some other Danish people including Victor are in the bathroom stall to the right laughing with me and tell me I’m being a douche, I tell the guy I don’t mean any harm by it and he’s laughing with me but I know he picked up on me lying. I sense he knows that I don’t like him.

suddenly everything is about to go down outside. We’re all outside waiting for the event to start. Sofia Smede and Dipti are there. I sense lots of the old group of close friends I hung out with in Lund are there. They still treat me the same way as they did a couple of years back. It’s fun :). it’s raining and pools of water are forming everywhere.

Right before we start the event, looks like either a music event with groups competing against each other. Or a breakdance battle event. the whole area turns into what looks like a miniature airport field and a norwegian private jet has to land right in front of us, it’s filled with important people. There’s an exact copy of the plane standing next to us, the plane lands. It manages to stop in 10-15meters. does a 180 slide and bumps into the other plane pretty hard. Everyone was expecting it. There’s like 2-300 people around watching it happen.

suddenly the plane starts moving forward, it turns into a car that’s trying to stop, a black car. It spins around driving forward, right at some spectators for the event. It hits two swedish guys, one tall guy and a younger smaller guy. from distance it looks ok but when I get closer I notice one of them is wedged under the wheel of the car. the younger kid keeps screaming. Tell the driver he just killed a guy! TELL THE DRIVER HE JUST KILLED A GUY!! I tell him to shut up, the young kid is fine but is in a shock. they back the car back a little. away from the tall guys upper body and head. I think he’s dead. he has brown hair. Looks exactly like Vasili at work. a guy from Greece. Nice guy.

They start to drag him by his jacket from being below the car. I yell at them to not move him at all! his body might be hurt. they can make it worse. the car disappears. I look at the guy, he’s awake, moaning and almost crying. there is no blood, no wounds. no tears or anything. I ask him. Can you feel your legs. He moves his head around like he’s testing if his jaw is still there and says.. I can’t feel anything below this.. my jaw.. I yell at the younger kid to call 911!! CALL 911 NOW!!! he’s fumbling with his iPhone. the screen is cracked and the only number dialled is number 8! the street is covered in people and I think.. wow I’m such a moron for trying to be a doctor or something.. I feel bad about it, ashamed.

I force myself to wake up and there is Mary-Lou on Skype. We talk for a minute and then I wrote this. I feel very awake now and I got to get up in 2h for work.

It’s been almost 2 weeks since I last wrote here so this will be a mixed update with what’s been going on in the last 14 days.

I spent last weekend working and hanging out with some friends, (mainly from Denmark) at OkashiiCon 2011 here in Malmö. I didn’t really have any high expectations and some small things happened at the convention that had me think twice about going there in the future, but hey! At least I got to meet some of my awesome friends. Sad part about the whole weekend is that I think I was a bit to optimistic about the weather, I ended up getting sick on monday.. and believe it or not I’ve been sick since then. I worked Wednesday in an attempt to ignore it all but it only made it worse.

I felt way better today so I went with Marjan for a photoshoot at Freddy’s studio. I ended up being one of the models and the actual photo is getting published all over Malmö within the next couple of weeks. Looking forward to the result! :)

After we left the studio I felt really ill, I was shaking and feeling dizzy, fever had come back. So I went home and crawled back into bed. got up after a few hours and here I am.. It feels odd wasting a full week just sitting here not doing much except for talking to people.. watching movies and listening to music.. even though I enjoy doing all of that.. it gets boring in the end.. and I can’t properly sleep when I’m sick either.. which SUCKS!

Posting some pics from last weekend..

I can’t wait for spring to be here already..

I’m 99% sure today was the first real day of spring.. and here I am..

It’s 3.40AM now and I’m off to bed!

Here’s a song for you kids to fall asleep too..

Good Night!

Best weekend so far this year!

I spent this Saturday at O-Zone Battles @ Mejeriet in Lund!

It was great fun listening to all the battles and getting to take photos again. Been a few months. But what I enjoyed the most was being surrounded by old friends and awesome people! After the even ended we went to grab some food and came back for the club! Eventually we ended up at Murat’s place around 5AM where I got some sleep sitting on a chair before heading into town with a bunch of new friends from Gothenburg and Stockholm for some breakfast and after that I went home to start working on the photos!

All and all, I had a great ton of fun and I can’t wait to see what the rest of the year is gonna bring!

Today I went shopping for a bit and got some new clothes and a pair of new sneakers, Blue Puma suedes!

Got most of the week off work so I’ll see if I can find anything productive to do! :)

Rock on guys!

So I stumbled upon this video tonight that you have to see!

It’s about this guy, John Maloof, a 29-year-old eBay entrepreneur real estate agent, who through an auction bought a box with 30.000 negatives by an unknown photographer.

After scanning some of the negatives and looking at them it turned out to be a treasure! Some of the best photography I’ve seen from the early 1900’s! Consisting today of over 100,000 negatives and over 100 rolls of undeveloped film! Photos that no living soul (nor dead) has put his eyes on! I looked through some of the photos that John has uploaded and I am still stunned by quality and life that she managed to capture. Few people know anything about her these days but if you ask me, Her name should be up there with the rest of the masters of the photography.

There’s an exhibition going on in New York, that is going to keep showing until April.

Life sure has it’s surprises sometimes.

Take it easy!

Who knew that Spiderman hung out with The Joker!
I think it’s one of the things I miss the most in Sweden.
Just going outside and not really knowing what might be around the next corner.
But hey, spring is almost here…

So I took the train to Copenhagen to hang out with Sandra and Sarah this afternoon! Was looking forward to it, haven’t seen Sarah in close to four years!

After I met Sandra and we started walking down Strøget, we found this great café called “Fotocaféen”.

It’s basically run as an exhibition hall / printing lab / café.

Staff were awesome, and really helpful with information, so I got some good ideas for the future! You can check out the café here - http://fotocafeen.dk/

Meeting up with Sarah was a lot of fun! We talked about old times and life in Australia as we remembered it and of course about photography. We finished the day off by walking down Strøget and getting a sandwich at a café in “Magasinet” “. All and all it was a great day! Can’t wait till next time I visit Copenhagen.

Until next time.  Ali

Sandra told me that she is going to the Copenhagen Fashion Week on Thursday and will be meeting up with Sarah afterwards.

Me and Sandra met Sarah when we studied at RMIT-University in Melbourne, Australia. She’s an awesome girl and also a photographer.
I really hope the weather is going to be good, I’ll hopefully get some shots done cause the last couple of months have been nothing but grey, cold and boring.

In my first post I mentioned that I am a photographer!
This is to show what kind of photos I usually take, most of them are from within the last year.
