It’s been almost 2 weeks since I last wrote here so this will be a mixed update with what’s been going on in the last 14 days.
I spent last weekend working and hanging out with some friends, (mainly from Denmark) at OkashiiCon 2011 here in Malmö. I didn’t really have any high expectations and some small things happened at the convention that had me think twice about going there in the future, but hey! At least I got to meet some of my awesome friends. Sad part about the whole weekend is that I think I was a bit to optimistic about the weather, I ended up getting sick on monday.. and believe it or not I’ve been sick since then. I worked Wednesday in an attempt to ignore it all but it only made it worse.
I felt way better today so I went with Marjan for a photoshoot at Freddy’s studio. I ended up being one of the models and the actual photo is getting published all over Malmö within the next couple of weeks. Looking forward to the result! :)
After we left the studio I felt really ill, I was shaking and feeling dizzy, fever had come back. So I went home and crawled back into bed. got up after a few hours and here I am.. It feels odd wasting a full week just sitting here not doing much except for talking to people.. watching movies and listening to music.. even though I enjoy doing all of that.. it gets boring in the end.. and I can’t properly sleep when I’m sick either.. which SUCKS!
Posting some pics from last weekend..
I can’t wait for spring to be here already..
I’m 99% sure today was the first real day of spring.. and here I am..
It’s 3.40AM now and I’m off to bed!
Here’s a song for you kids to fall asleep too..

Good Night!
Best weekend so far this year!
I spent this Saturday at O-Zone Battles @ Mejeriet in Lund!
It was great fun listening to all the battles and getting to take photos again. Been a few months. But what I enjoyed the most was being surrounded by old friends and awesome people! After the even ended we went to grab some food and came back for the club! Eventually we ended up at Murat’s place around 5AM where I got some sleep sitting on a chair before heading into town with a bunch of new friends from Gothenburg and Stockholm for some breakfast and after that I went home to start working on the photos!
All and all, I had a great ton of fun and I can’t wait to see what the rest of the year is gonna bring!
Today I went shopping for a bit and got some new clothes and a pair of new sneakers, Blue Puma suedes!
Got most of the week off work so I’ll see if I can find anything productive to do! :)
Rock on guys!
So I stumbled upon this video tonight that you have to see!
It’s about this guy, John Maloof, a 29-year-old eBay entrepreneur real estate agent, who through an auction bought a box with 30.000 negatives by an unknown photographer.
After scanning some of the negatives and looking at them it turned out to be a treasure! Some of the best photography I’ve seen from the early 1900’s! Consisting today of over 100,000 negatives and over 100 rolls of undeveloped film! Photos that no living soul (nor dead) has put his eyes on! I looked through some of the photos that John has uploaded and I am still stunned by quality and life that she managed to capture. Few people know anything about her these days but if you ask me, Her name should be up there with the rest of the masters of the photography.
There’s an exhibition going on in New York, that is going to keep showing until April.
Life sure has it’s surprises sometimes.
Take it easy!

So I took the train to Copenhagen to hang out with Sandra and Sarah this afternoon! Was looking forward to it, haven’t seen Sarah in close to four years!
After I met Sandra and we started walking down Strøget, we found this great café called “Fotocaféen”.
It’s basically run as an exhibition hall / printing lab / café.
Staff were awesome, and really helpful with information, so I got some good ideas for the future! You can check out the café here - http://fotocafeen.dk/
Meeting up with Sarah was a lot of fun! We talked about old times and life in Australia as we remembered it and of course about photography. We finished the day off by walking down Strøget and getting a sandwich at a café in “Magasinet” “. All and all it was a great day! Can’t wait till next time I visit Copenhagen.
Until next time. Ali
Sandra told me that she is going to the Copenhagen Fashion Week on Thursday and will be meeting up with Sarah afterwards.
Me and Sandra met Sarah when we studied at RMIT-University in Melbourne, Australia. She’s an awesome girl and also a photographer.
I really hope the weather is going to be good, I’ll hopefully get some shots done cause the last couple of months have been nothing but grey, cold and boring.
Until next time!
This is something I’ve been planning on doing for the last couple of months but not really gathered the courage to do.
I’m starting on this new journal and hopefully I will be able to share some bits and pieces of my life with whoever is taking time to read this. I’ll also make sure to upload some of my recent photos now and then.
Until next time.
